Bandai Namco Entertainment has announced a free update coming to Digimon Story: Time Stranger on July 9 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, and PC. Players on Switch and Switch 2 will get the update a day later on July 10, as that version launches on those platforms on that date. The highlight of the update is Terriermon Assistant joining the roster as a playable character, giving players a new option to bring into their adventures. Alongside that, a Photo Mode is being added for use during field exploration, letting players capture moments as they move through the game’s world.

The update also addresses a quality-of-life concern for players managing their Digimon. A new screen will be available in the Digifarm that lets players check Digivolution conditions, making it easier to keep track of what’s needed to evolve their Digimon without having to dig through menus or guess. Rounding out the update is a Graphics Mode selection option, giving players the ability to choose how the game looks on their system, which is a welcome addition for those who want more control over their visual experience.
