SEGA has released the Angry Birds Content Drop update for Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds, bringing the iconic red bird to the racing game as a free playable  character.

Red from the Angry Birds franchise is now a playable racer in Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds, coming with his own vehicle called the Super Roaster. The update also adds special emotes and sounds tied to the character, along with three new tracks for the in-game Jukebox: “GO! Theme,” “GO! Theme (Final Lap),” and “Angry Birds Theme.” Alongside the content drop, an in-game Angry Birds Festival event is also live. Players can collect Festival Points during the event period to earn exclusive rewards.

The event runs on the following schedule:

• PT/ET: April 16 at 5:00 p.m. PT / 8:00 p.m. ET through April 19 at 4:59 p.m. PT / 7:59 p.m. ET
• UTC+8: April 17 at 8:00 a.m. through April 20 at 7:59 a.m.

SEGA also noted that gadgets obtained during Festival events may be distributed to players through future updates, and that the reward delivery method could change in upcoming events. Alongside that, SEGA has flagged a known issue where “Speed Character Kit” is incorrectly displayed as “Speed Character Kit 2” in-game. A fix is scheduled for a future update.

Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds is currently available on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch 2, Nintendo Switch, and PC through both Steam and the Epic Games Store.
