Starfield, Bethesda’s space-faring RPG, appears to be heading to the Nintendo Switch 2. The game was recently rated for the console by Taiwan’s Entertainment Software Rating Information Board, a strong indicator that a port is in the works. The rating was first spotted by Universo Nintendo. The sci-fi title originally launched on Xbox and PC nearly three years ago. It made its PlayStation 5 debut earlier this month, with fixes promised to the recent port release.

This wouldn’t be the first time Bethesda has brought one of its titles to Nintendo’s new hardware. The company has already released Fallout 4: Anniversary Edition and The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered on Switch 2, and Indiana Jones and the Great Circle is scheduled to arrive on the platform next month.
The PS5 launch of Starfield came bundled with two major content updates. The first is Terran Armada, a paid story expansion that brings new characters, locations, enemies, quests, new star systems, and rewards. The second is Free Lanes, a free update that adds improvements to the overall game experience, including interplanetary travel, new encounters, points of interest, dungeons, and a new land vehicle called the Moon Jumper.

Despite the size of these updates, lead creative producer Timothy Lamb made it clear they aren’t meant to be seen as a reinvention of the game. “Nothing to announce today, but there’s a lot more in the lore, things the team is excited about, things we still want to pursue,” Lamb said. “We’re still working on Starfield.” No official announcement or release date for the Switch 2 version has been made by Bethesda at this time.
