According to Nintendo, the game will let players freely explore a large, open world using Kirby’s classic copy ability. As always, Kirby can absorb powers from enemies, but this time those abilities can be used in more creative ways to get around the world. Players can use bomb jumps to blast themselves into the air, stick a sword into trees to climb them, or ride quickly across open fields, among other movement options built around exploring what Nintendo is calling “the world beyond.”
The story also introduces a new mystery for players to uncover. Kirby ends up needing to rescue a girl with unexplained powers from King Dedede, and her connection to Kirby’s own strange new abilities is left unclear for now. There’s also a massive wall standing in Kirby’s path, with players left to wonder what exactly lies on the other side.

Nintendo has not shared additional gameplay details beyond this overview at this time. More information on Kirby and the World Beyond is expected to be revealed as the spring 2027 release window approaches.
