Outerplane: Another World teaser released by VAGAMES

Outerplane: Another World is a mobile RPG developed by VAGAMES, and published by Smilegate Megaport. The game is dubbed as a “fantasy turn-based RPG”, is clearly anime / anime-esque in style, with 3D models and environments. You can find the teaser below:

Outerplane: Another World is being slated to launch sometime 2022. After this teaser, more previews including character introductions and showcases for in-game systems are planned to be released via VAGAMES’ Youtube and Facebook channels.

VAGAMES itself has been putting out recruitment notices, including positions for animators, character designers, background artists and directors for concepts and storyboarding and programmers, among them. Going by the job listings, the engine they will be using is Unity. The VAGAMES company website doesn’t appear fully set up as of time of writing, so updates might be better off found on their Facebook.

Character reference sheets are also on the VAGAMES Facebook, with fairly obvious initial archetypes that these characters appear to fill. It’s quite interesting that while Outerplane: Another World is apparently called a turn-based RPG, the teaser shows off dynamic and aerial combos that you might assume would be more at home in a real time action RPG. If you’re interested, more information should come out in the coming months.
