Sony has announced that the PlayStation 5 has now shipped 95.3 million units worldwide. The update came as part of the company’s financial results for the three months ending June 30, 2026. During that quarter, Sony shipped 1.6 million PS5 units. This is a drop of 0.9 million units compared to the same period last year.
Sony also shared some other numbers alongside the shipment figures. PlayStation Network reached 125 million monthly active users as of June 30, 2026, an increase of two million users compared to the same quarter last year.

On the software side, combined sales of PS5 and PS4 titles reached 66.1 million units for the quarter, up by 0.2 million compared to the same period last year. Of that total, six million units came from first-party titles, which is down by 0.19 million year over year. Digital downloads made up 82 percent of full game software sales, a one percent decrease from the same period last year.
Sony’s Game & Network Services segment, which covers PlayStation, also posted its results for the quarter. Revenue for the segment rose by 0.6 billion yen (around $3.74 million) year over year to 937.1 billion yen (around $5.84 billion), while operating income increased by 54.1 billion yen (around $0.34 billion) to 202.0 billion yen (around $1.26 billion).
These figures give a snapshot of how the PlayStation 5 and its ecosystem are performing nearly six years after launch, with Sony continuing to report steady growth in areas like network engagement even as hardware shipments and first-party sales saw a slight dip this quarter.
