The Pokémon Company has announced that Part 1 of the Pokémon Pokopia Expansion Pass paid DLC will launch on August 5 for the Nintendo Switch 2. Alongside the announcement, a new trailer was released giving fans a look at what to expect, and the company also shared fresh details about Part 2 of the expansion.
Part 1, called Bubbly Basin, introduces a brand new underwater town for players to explore and build in. Inside this submerged area, players can grow watermelons with help from Water-type Pokémon, while Pokémon with the Generate specialty can be used to power bubble machines or turn on streetlights. The update also adds more Pokémon to discover, new outfits to wear, a power-up for the move Surf, and a new prepared food item, smoothies.
Players will also be able to dive through a hole in the sea floor to reach a deep sea area covered in darkness, where they can follow glowing coral for a new adventure. Building gets a new twist underwater too, thanks to buoyant blocks that let players construct floating buildings at different depths. There’s also the option to build a Sharpedo submarine, which can be turned into a room similar to a Secret Base.
Looking ahead, Part 2 of the Expansion Pass is scheduled to release in late 2026. This next part will let players dress up alongside their Pokémon using new accessories, along with additional furniture pieces and more Pokémon to find. The Pokémon Company said more information about Part 2 will be shared at a later date.
