SEGA has announced that SHINOBI: Art of Vengeance is heading to Nintendo Switch 2 on September 24, with pre-orders already open on the Nintendo eShop. The game originally launched on August 29, 2025 across PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, PlayStation 4, Switch, and PC via Steam. The Switch 2 version brings the title to Nintendo’s latest hardware with both standard and Deluxe Edition options available.
In the game, players take control of Joe Musashi, the longtime series protagonist and master ninja, who returns home only to find his village burned down and his clan turned to stone. From there, he sets out on a revenge-driven journey through hand-drawn worlds, taking on waves of enemies and large-scale bosses along the way. The game features multiple paths to explore or unlock alongside what SEGA describes as smooth, satisfying gameplay.
The Switch 2 version starts at $29.99 USD for the standard digital edition. A Deluxe Edition is available in both digital and physical formats, with the physical version coming as a game-key card for Switch 2 and a standard disc for PlayStation 5. The physical Deluxe Edition includes the base game, the SEGA Villains Stage DLC, translucent character cards, a physical art book, the in-game Ghost Outfit, a Medic Lite Amulet, a digital art book and soundtrack, and 2,000 in-game gold.
The SEGA Villains Stage DLC, which is included in both Deluxe Editions, pits Joe Musashi against three iconic SEGA characters: Dr. Eggman from Sonic the Hedgehog, Goro Majima from the Like a Dragon/Yakuza series, and Death Adder from Golden Axe.
