Capcom has announced that several paid DLC items for Dragon’s Dogma 2 will be permanently removed from digital storefronts on June 25, 2026 (UTC). The Dragon’s Dogma 2 Deluxe Edition is also part of the removal, alongside various item packs that include Rift Crystals, Character Editor items, and Pawn support items.
Players who already own any of this content before the deadline will still be able to use everything they purchased normally, so existing owners are not affected. However, anyone planning to pick up these items will need to do so before they disappear from sale.
To prepare for the release of Dragon’s Dogma 2: Dark Arisen, we’ll be discontinuing the Deluxe Edition of Dragon’s Dogma 2, as well as certain DLC items on June 24, 5pm PT/ June 25, 1am BST.

When Dragon’s Dogma 2 launched in early 2024, the presence of day-one microtransactions drew significant backlash from players and sparked widespread debate. A large part of the frustration came from the fact that all of the paid items could already be found and earned through regular gameplay, making them optional shortcuts rather than locked content. Still, the controversy spread quickly across social media and led to a wave of negative reviews on Steam.
Capcom has connected this removal to the upcoming release of Dragon’s Dogma 2: Dark Arisen, which is set to launch on October 26, 2026. The expansion is described as a more complete version of the game, bringing fresh content and new character customization options.
Alongside the DLC removal, Capcom confirmed that the standard digital version of the game will receive a permanent price cut starting on that same date, with the goal of making the base game more accessible ahead of the expansion’s arrival. The exact discount percentage has not been announced yet.
