Playground Games and Xbox Game Studios have announced that Fable will launch on February 23, 2027, for Xbox Series X|S, PC, and PlayStation 5. The news came out of the Xbox Games Showcase, alongside a new story trailer that also introduced the game’s full cast.
The trailer put a spotlight on Isabel, the game’s main villain, voiced by Hayley Atwell, known for her roles in the Marvel Cinematic Universe and the Mission: Impossible films.
According to Associate Narrative Director Craig Owens, Isabel is a Hero driven by grief who believes she is correcting a great injustice, making her a genuinely dangerous opponent throughout the game. The Hero of Briar Hill, the player character, is played by two actors: Lily Nichol and Ukweli Roach. Owens describes the Hero as an ordinary person shaped by fate, with the player deciding whether they lean good or bad over the course of the story.
Matt King, best known as Super Hans in Peep Show, plays Humphry, described as Albion’s greatest Hero who has since retreated from the spotlight. Susan Wokoma plays Arden the Cobbler, a Hero who wants nothing to do with the fame that comes with the title. Richard Ayoade voices Dave the Giant, a self-described intellectual who accidentally transforms himself into a giant. Natasia Demetriou and Nathan Foad play Jenny and Jacob, feuding siblings and rival heirs to the city of Bloodstone. Kwame Augustine plays Connor, the player character’s adoptive brother. Nina Wadia plays Grandma Samira, the player’s adoptive grandmother and local landlady. Robert Whitelock rounds out the revealed cast as Nigel the Sheriff, a well-meaning but perpetually overwhelmed lawman.
