The worlds of card battles and legendary RPGs come together in this exciting crossover. Magic: The Gathering—FINAL FANTASY arrives soon on June 13, 2025, letting you experience every mainline FINAL FANTASY game in an all-new way, with this collaboration encompassing all 16 mainline Final Fantasy titles. Whether you’re new to Magic or a longtime fan, there are several ways to dive into this fantasy adventure. Here’s what you’ll find in each product when you crack them open.

Starter Kit: Perfect for New Players

The Starter Kit gives you everything needed to start playing right away. Inside the box, you’ll get two complete 60-card decks that are ready to play straight out of the package. These aren’t random cards thrown together – they’re carefully built decks that work well against each other, making for balanced and fun games right from the start.

Each deck comes with its own storage box to keep your cards organized and protected. This means you can keep your decks separate and ready to grab whenever you want to play. There’s also a Magic play guide booklet that walks you through the rules step by step. The booklet is designed for beginners, so even if you’ve never played a card game before, you’ll be able to learn the basics.

This is ideal if you want to learn Magic with a friend or introduce someone else to the game using familiar Final Fantasy characters and themes. The two-deck setup means you and a friend can start playing immediately without needing to buy separate products.

      Bundle: The All-Around Package

The Bundle offers the best mix of everything a Magic player could want. You’ll unpack 9 Play Boosters, which are the main booster packs designed for building decks and playing with friends. These boosters are specifically made to be fun to open while also giving you useful cards for actually playing the game, not just collecting.

Bundle | Image Credit: Digital Braves

Each bundle also includes 2 special Extended-Art cards with Traditional Foil treatment. These cards are extra special because they remove the usual card borders and frames, letting the artwork spread across the entire card surface. The foil treatment makes them shine and catch the light beautifully. These cards are exclusive to bundles, so you won’t find them anywhere else.

For building decks, you get a generous helping of 32 Full-Art Land cards. These aren’t your typical lands – they feature gorgeous Final Fantasy artwork that covers the entire card. You get 16 regular versions and 16 with shiny Traditional Foil treatment, giving you plenty of options for making your decks look amazing while also being functional.

The bundle also comes with exclusive accessories that you can’t get elsewhere. The spindown life counter is specially designed for this set and helps you track your life total during games. Instead of using pen and paper or apps, you can just turn the die to show your current life total. The storage box is also Final Fantasy-themed and sturdy enough to hold all your cards safely. It’s designed to fit everything from the bundle perfectly, plus leave room for more cards you might get later.

      Play Booster Box

If you want lots of cards for building multiple decks or trying different strategies, the Play Booster Box is your best bet. It contains 30 Play Boosters, with each pack holding 14 Magic cards plus 1 token or art card. That’s over 400 cards total to work with – enough to build several different decks or really customize the ones you have.

Play Boosters are designed to be the most versatile packs available. They’re perfect for building decks because they contain a good mix of different card types and rarities. They’re also great for playing Limited games with friends, where everyone opens packs and builds decks on the spot for a fair and fun experience. And honestly, they’re just tons of fun to open – there’s something exciting about not knowing what powerful Final Fantasy characters or spells you’ll find in each pack.

The token and art cards included with each booster serve different purposes. Tokens represent creatures or other game pieces that some cards create during play, while art cards showcase the beautiful artwork from the set. Both add extra value to each pack beyond just the playable cards.

With 30 packs, you’ll have plenty of opportunities to find rare and powerful cards, and you’re almost guaranteed to get multiple copies of cards you want to use in decks. This makes the booster box ideal for players who want to dive deep into the set and really explore all the different deck building possibilities.

      Collector Booster Box

Collector Boosters are all about premium cards and special treatments that you simply can’t find anywhere else. The box contains 12 Collector Boosters with 15 cards each, but these aren’t ordinary cards. These are the most beautiful and rare versions available.

These are the only boosters where you might find cards with special foil treatments that make them extra shiny and eye-catching. But the real treasure hunt is for the serialized cards – in less than 0.1% of English Collector Boosters, you might find a card that’s printed with a unique number, making it truly one-of-a-kind. These serialized cards are incredibly rare and highly sought after by collectors.

Every single Collector Booster is guaranteed to be packed with alternate-frame cards that you won’t find in regular boosters. This includes Borderless cards that feature beautiful alternate artwork with no borders, letting the art flow freely across the card. You’ll also find Extended-Art cards that remove the usual card frame to put the artwork on full display.

All of these special cards feature Final Fantasy themes, so you’re not just getting premium Magic cards – you’re getting premium Final Fantasy collectibles. The alternate artwork often showcases iconic Final Fantasy scenes, characters, and locations in ways that regular cards don’t. If you’re someone who loves collecting the fanciest, most beautiful versions of cards, or if you want cards that really stand out when you play them, Collector Boosters are where you’ll find the absolute best the set has to offer.

      Commander Decks

The Commander bundle is perfect for multiplayer games and includes all 4 Final Fantasy-themed Commander decks. Each deck contains exactly 100 cards and is completely ready to play right out of the box. Commander is Magic’s most popular multiplayer format, designed for groups of 3-4 players to have epic, longer games full of big plays and social interaction.

Every deck is built around specific Final Fantasy themes and includes 2 foil Legendary Creature cards that can serve as your commander – the special card that leads your deck and can be cast from a special zone. The Traditional Foil treatment makes these commanders really shine and stand out as the stars of your deck.

Each deck also comes with a 2-card Collector Booster Sample Pack. These packs contain 2 alternate-border cards of rare or higher rarity, with at least 1 guaranteed to have Traditional Foil treatment. This gives you a taste of the premium cards from Collector Boosters without having to buy a whole box. You’ll also get double-sided tokens that represent creatures and other game pieces that your cards might create during play. Having official tokens makes games run more smoothly and look more professional than using random objects as placeholders.

Commander Deck – Collector Edition | Image Credit: Digital Braves
Commander Deck | Image Credit: Digital Braves

For players who want the absolute premium Commander experience, there’s also the Magic: The Gathering – Final Fantasy Collector’s Edition Commander Deck option. These take the regular Commander decks to an entirely new level of luxury.

Every single one of the 100 cards in each Collector’s Edition deck features a special Surge Foil treatment. This isn’t just regular foil – it’s a unique foiling process that creates surging dashes of rainbow shine across each card. Having an all-foil deck means every card you play will dazzle your opponents and catch the light beautifully throughout the game.

      Prerelease Pack

Prerelease events are special community gatherings that happen about a week before the official release, giving you the first chance to play with the new set. When you register for a Magic: The Gathering—FINAL FANTASY Prerelease event at your local game store, you’ll receive a Prerelease Pack designed specifically for these events.

The pack contains 6 Play Boosters that you’ll use to build a deck on the spot. This format is called “sealed deck” – everyone gets the same number of packs, builds a deck from what they open, and then plays against other people who did the same thing. It’s a fun, fair way to experience new cards since everyone is working with random collections.

Prerelease Pack | Image Credit: Digital Braves

You also get a special foil year-stamped rare or mythic rare card as a keepsake. This card has the year printed on it, making it a unique memento of your prerelease experience. These year-stamped cards become nostalgic collectibles that remind you of when you first played with the set.

The pack includes a deck box to hold the deck you build during the event, plus a spindown die to track your life total during games. But here’s where it gets exciting – 1 in every 20 Prerelease Packs contains a special acrylic spindown die instead of the regular one. These acrylic dice are much fancier, more durable, and become special collectibles that you can use in all your future games.

Each product offers a different way to experience this crossover between two beloved franchises.
