Dead by Daylight Brings in Vecna from Dungeons & Dragons, Castlevania Collab Also Announced 

The long list of surprise crossover continues as Dead by Daylight announced that it will be collaborating with the popular tabletop RPG Dungeons & Dragons as well as Konami’s vampire series Castlevania.

Announced as 2 of the 6 upcoming Chapters for Dead by Daylight, the Dungeons & Dragons Chapter will be arriving on June 3, 2024, while the Castlevania Chapter will be released sometime this summer.

For the Dungeons & Dragons crossover, Vecna, one of the most iconic villains in the franchise, will be appearing as a new Killer who goes by the moniker of “The Lich”.

The Whispered One. Lord of the Rotted Tower. The Master of Secrets. Few dare speak his true name. Vecna’s thirst for dark knowledge led him to many strange realms, but a clue found by a servant ignited a new obsession. It spoke of an unknown land. A realm of fog, home to an incredible dark energy.

Meanwhile, a Bard named Aestri Yazar and the human adventurer Baermar Uraz will be joining the game as a new Survivor while the Chapter will feature a new map called Forgotten Ruins, a mysterious dungeon filled with easter eggs for Dungeons & Dragons fans.

To pay homage to the classic tabletop RPG, this collaboration will also bring in mechanics inspired by Dungeons & Dragons, with loot scattered across the map in chests. To open a chest, players would even need to roll a d20 dice to determine the rarity of the item found within.

Both Vecna and the new Survivors are available to try out in the Public Test-Build.

An upcoming collaboration with Castlevania, the iconic side-scrolling gothic horror action-adventure series, has also been teased with more details about the crossover to be revealed on August 6, 2024.

Aside from the 2 collaborations, Dead by Daylight will also be introducing a new mode called 2V8 Game Mode, where 2 Killers will face off against 8 Survivors on a much larger Map.

More information about the game mode will be revealed in a livestream this coming July, Behaviour Interactive announced.
