She may only have a few minutes of screen time in the anime, but Velzard is coming to Slime ISEKAI Memories as a playable character. She will be obtainable tomorrow at 2:00 UTC, 16 March 2022. Her banner will be up until 5:29, 7 April April 2022.

While we do not know Velzard’s stats and all her skills yet, the game did partially tease her details. She will be a water element character and her 2nd skill has an 80% chance to inflict Frostbite on all enemies for 2 turns. At level 1, it costs 25 skill points.

Frostbite is an entirely new status effect in Slime ISEKAI Memories. Similar to Poison, Frostbite causes the target damage at the start of each turn while also increasing status down effects by 1.3 times. To illustrate the effects of Frostbite, compare the two statuses between a normal Volcano Colossus (left) and a Frostbitten Volcano Colossus (right).

The Volcano Colossus on the left is negatively affected by decreased DEF by 45%. The Volcano Colossus on the right has a decreased DEF of 58.5% as Frostbite has increased the effectiveness of the status down effect by 1.3 times.

This makes Velzard a great partner with Raphael, the character with the strongest DEF debuff in the game. In future, as more debuffers join Slime ISEKAI Memories, Velzard and the Frostbite effect will shine even more.
