HoYoverse announced that Zenless Zone Zero will release Version 2.2, titled “Do Not Go Gentle Into That Good Night”, on September 4, 2025 (UTC+8). The update not only adds the Obol Squad faction and new S-level agents but also introduces fresh events and the game’s first gaming peripheral collaboration with Razer.
Obol Squad Joins the Fight
In Version 2.2, the Defense Force sends Obol Squad to Waifei Peninsula. Players will gradually uncover the truth behind the peninsula’s conflicts while learning more about its newest members. Leading the charge are two S-Rank agents. Seed, an Electric Attack agent and gifted mechanic, fights with her custom-built Seed Sr. mecha to unleash heavy firepower.
Moreover, her synergy with other Attack agents makes her an essential squad pick. Orphie, known as “Magus,” is the Fire Attack captain of Obol Squad. She focuses on team coordination, and her laser-based EX Special Attacks not only boost allies but also break through defenses.
Furthermore, Trigger and Evelyn will also return in Version 2.2, alongside the Bangboo, Mercury. Later updates will eventually bring Soldier 0 – Anby, opening up new ways to play.
New Events and Challenges
The update introduces several activities that blend strategy and fun. For instance, the Band of Brave Bangboo event adds a tower defense mode with new mechanics such as bush concealment and miasmic hazards. Clearing these challenges rewards players with Excaliboo, a new A-Rank Bangboo that attacks with a sword or hammer depending on its luck.
In addition, the Rhythm Rave event offers a rhythm mini-game. Players can sync their actions with music tracks while earning rewards. Consequently, these new activities expand the variety of experiences available in Zenless Zone Zero.
Razer Collaboration Announced
Alongside these updates, HoYoverse also revealed its first gaming peripheral collaboration with Razer. The collection highlights fan-favorite character Miyabi and features themed versions of the Razer Iskur V2 X chair, BlackWidow V4 X keyboard, Cobra mouse, and Gigantus V2 mousepad. Therefore, this partnership extends the game’s world into real-life setups, letting players bring Zenless Zone Zero into their homes in style.
Version 2.2 also introduces more quality-of-life features. Players can now choose between Belle or Wise during companion events, which adds flexibility to the story. Meanwhile, the update will be available on PlayStation 5 Pro, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox Cloud Gaming, PC, iOS, and Android.
