SEGA and Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio have confirmed that Yakuza Kiwami and Yakuza Kiwami 2 will release for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series on December 8, 2025, worldwide. This launch comes just a few weeks after the Nintendo Switch 2 versions arrive on November 13. In addition, the PC versions will receive an update on December 9 that adds more language support.
Physical Editions and Anniversary Bundle

Players will be able to pick up both games digitally or as a physical edition for PS5 and Xbox Series X|S . SEGA also announced a special Yakuza Series 20th Anniversary Bundle, which will be available physically for PS5 and PC. This collection includes Yakuza 0 Director’s Cut, Yakuza Kiwami, and Yakuza Kiwami 2 in one package, offering fans an easy way to revisit the origins of the franchise.
Revisiting the Classics

Yakuza Kiwami is the full remake of the original 2005 game that started the series. It follows former yakuza Kazuma Kiryu as he unravels a billion-yen conspiracy in Tokyo’s Kamurocho district. The remake brings modern visuals, re-recorded voice acting, and new story content, while staying true to the core that made the series famous.
Yakuza Kiwami 2 builds on this foundation with an intense clash between the “Dragon of Dojima,” Kazuma Kiryu, and the “Dragon of Kansai,” Ryuji Goda. Using the Dragon Engine, the game delivers a cinematic and brutal sequel filled with street fights, dramatic twists, and side stories that highlight the heart of the series.
Expanded Language Support

For the first time, both remakes will support French, Italian, German, Spanish, Latin American Spanish, Brazilian Portuguese, and Russian. This update ensures a broader audience can experience the stories of Kiryu and the characters around him.
Availability
Currently, Yakuza Kiwami is available on PS4, PS3 (Japan only), Xbox One, PC, and Switch. Yakuza Kiwami 2 can be played on PS4, Xbox One, and PC. With their upcoming PS5 and Xbox Series X|S launch, the games will finally be accessible on every modern platform, giving newcomers and longtime fans more ways to experience the early days of the franchise.
