The development team behind WUCHANG: Fallen Feathers has reportedly been disbanded, according to recent industry reports, raising concerns about the game’s long-term support and future updates.
Developed by Leenzee Games and published by 505 Games, the Soulslike action RPG launched in July 2025 to generally positive reception. However, despite its relatively strong critical performance and reported commercial success, new claims suggest internal restructuring has led to the dissolution of the core development team.
Reported Leadership Changes Trigger Studio Shake-Up

According to multiple reports originating from Chinese gaming outlets and later circulated by international sources, the disbandment of the WUCHANG: Fallen Feathers team allegedly followed a major internal leadership change at Leenzee Games.
The reports claim that game director Xia Siyuan was removed from his position prior to the Lunar New Year period in February 2026. Some accounts further suggest that he may have departed to establish a new studio, although this has not been officially confirmed.
Following his reported exit, remaining members of the development team were allegedly given the option to either transition to other internal projects or contribute to outsourced development work. However, sources indicate that many developers declined these reassignment options, ultimately leading to the full dissolution of the original team responsible for WUCHANG: Fallen Feathers.
No Official Confirmation From Leenzee Games or 505 Games

At the time of writing, neither Leenzee Games nor 505 Games has issued an official statement addressing the reported disbandment. Key figures allegedly involved in the internal restructuring have also remained silent, leaving the situation unverified.
As a result, the current information should be treated as unconfirmed until official clarification is provided by the studio or publisher. Industry observers note that while such reports can sometimes reflect internal instability, they do not always result in immediate changes to live game support.
What This Means for WUCHANG: Fallen Feathers

If the reports prove accurate, the dissolution of the core development team could have significant implications for the future of Wuchang: Fallen Feathers. Post-launch support, including potential updates, expansions, or technical patches, may be impacted depending on how Leenzee Games reallocates internal resources.
Despite the uncertainty, the game itself has maintained a solid reputation among players. On PC, WUCHANG: Fallen Feathers currently holds a “Mostly Positive” rating on Steam based on thousands of user reviews, and its initial launch was described as commercially successful by its publisher’s parent company.
The game follows Bai Wuchang, a pirate warrior navigating a dark reinterpretation of the late Ming dynasty while searching for a way to resurrect her sister. Its blend of Soulslike combat, atmospheric world design, and mythological themes helped it stand out in a crowded genre.
Studio Background and Future Uncertainty

Leenzee Games was founded in 2016 and previously released smaller-scale projects before gaining wider attention with WUCHANG: Fallen Feathers. The studio has not announced its next project, and it remains unclear how many developers, if any, from the original team will continue under the company’s future structure.
Meanwhile, publisher 505 Games has not commented on whether ongoing support plans for the game will be affected.

As things stand, WUCHANG: Fallen Feathers remains available across PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC, but its long-term development trajectory now appears uncertain pending official confirmation from the companies involved.
