Nexon Games and developer LoreVault have revealed Woochi the Wayfarer, a single-player fantasy action-adventure set in Korea’s Joseon era. The game will launch on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, and PC via Steam. However, a release date has yet to be confirmed.
Powered by Unreal Engine 5, the title promises vivid visuals and a rich narrative. It draws inspiration from The Tale of Jeon Woochi, a classic Korean novel. The story follows Jeon Woochi, a mischievous mage who battles injustice while outsmarting the corrupt.
A Fresh Take on Korean Myth and Culture
Nexon Games CEO Park Yong-hyun said in a press release that the project blends traditional Korean elements with a story designed for global appeal. “We plan to present a game that will attract gamers from all cultures. It will showcase Nexon Games’ development capabilities through an amazing story,” he explained.

LoreVault is working closely with experts in Korean literature and traditional music to ensure authenticity. The team has also traveled across Korea, visiting historical and cultural sites. These trips help them recreate the Joseon era with accurate and detailed 3D environments.
Trailer Teases Mystery and Power
The two-minute, 20-second teaser opens with Myoan, a mysterious shaman, chanting in a dark forest. Woochi soon appears, standing in the shadows. As the scene builds tension, the two characters face each other in a dramatic standoff.

Award-winning composer Jung Jae-il, known for Parasite and Squid Game, is creating the soundtrack. His score combines traditional Korean instruments with modern orchestration. This fusion heightens the mystical tone of the game.
A Story-Driven Adventure Worth Watching

Woochi the Wayfarer promises a single-player, narrative-driven journey filled with magical landscapes and mythological creatures. The gameplay will blend fast-paced action with Korean folklore. With Nexon targeting global audiences and LoreVault focusing on cultural authenticity, this Joseon-era adventure is shaping up to be one of the most anticipated titles in development.
