The Penang Esports Festival is rapidly approaching! Northern Malaysia’s largest gaming and esports event will be on 7-8 September 2019 at Penang’s Setia Spice Arena. Watch a variety of world-class gaming tournaments!

Esports – electronic sports – is just like any organized traditional sports, except centered around video games. PEF aims to position Penang as a gaming and esports hub in Malaysia, while promoting the state as the youth’s top tourist destination!

SOZO Pte Ltd is organizing the event, presented by the Penang State Government with the support of PETACH (Penang State EXCO Office for Tourism, Arts, Culture & Heritage) and Penang Global Tourism. Gaming stalwarts Eliphant Pte Ltd, Flash Vision Esport, GameStart Asia and KITAMEN are some of the partners of the event.

Watch pros battle it out for a total prize pool of RM75,000 across events! Attendees can also check out PEF’s exhibitions! Try out newly released games at the PS4 booth, try Drodo’s Auto Chess for yourself, join some fun activities at the eGG Network booth for win souvenirs, and try out local studio Magnus Games’ Re:Legend!

7 September will see Elicia, Faraz and Sean impart their experience in the game industry in a panel talk session. DC will also have a separate session talking about his journey from a kid in Penang to launching his game worldwide.

There’ll be plenty of coverage of the tournaments and stage event with top esports and gaming channel eGG Network, Malaysia’s biggest gaming media network Wanuxi, GamerBraves and GamerSantai, and SEA’s biggest Japan pop culture media SO JAPAN on hand to deliver the excitement region-wide! Catch anisong (anime song) deejay and regional talent DJ SOBA playing your favourite gaming songs. Don’t forget popular Malaysian violinist and cosplayer Luna Lorrain!
