SNEG, in collaboration with Games Workshop and several development and publishing partners, has officially announced the Warhammer Classics label, a new initiative designed to preserve and restore more than 20 classic Warhammer video games for modern PC audiences via Steam. The lineup includes titles making their Steam debut for the first time, alongside others returning to the platform after long absences.
Each title included under the Warhammer Classics label has been updated to ensure compatibility with modern systems while maintaining the original gameplay experience that defined these releases for longtime fans.
A Preservation Effort for Warhammer’s PC Gaming Legacy

According to SNEG, the Warhammer Classics initiative is not simply a collection of rereleases, but part of a broader effort to safeguard the legacy of early Warhammer PC games. Many of these titles had become difficult to access due to outdated hardware requirements or digital storefront removals over the years.
SNEG director Oleg Klapovskiy emphasized that the project reflects a long-term commitment to preserving foundational entries in the franchise’s gaming history. With Warhammer maintaining a strong presence on PC for decades, the label aims to ensure these influential strategy, role-playing, and tactical titles remain accessible to both returning players and newcomers.
To celebrate the launch of the label, all titles included in the Warhammer Classics initiative are currently available on Steam with limited-time discounts and curated bundle offers for one week.
Several Classic Warhammer Titles Make Their Steam Debut

A number of historically significant Warhammer titles are appearing on Steam for the first time as part of the Warhammer Classics rollout. These include early strategy and tactical experiences that helped establish the franchise’s presence in PC gaming during the late 1990s and early 2000s.
Among the titles newly arriving on Steam are Warhammer: Shadow of the Horned Rat, Warhammer: Dark Omen, and Final Liberation: Warhammer Epic 40,000, alongside classic tactical entries such as Warhammer 40,000: Chaos Gate and Warhammer 40,000: Rites of War. Also included in the debut lineup are Warhammer 40,000: Fire Warrior and Warhammer: Mark of Chaos – Gold Edition, expanding access to both strategy-focused and action-oriented experiences from the franchise’s earlier PC catalog.
Together, these releases represent an important restoration of early Warhammer digital history that had previously been difficult to obtain through modern storefronts.
Returning Favorites Expand the Warhammer Classics Library

In addition to newly added titles, several previously released Warhammer games are returning to Steam under the Warhammer Classics label. These include tactical and board game-inspired adaptations such as Space Hulk and Space Hulk: Ascension, as well as strategy-focused releases like Warhammer 40,000: Armageddon and Warhammer 40,000: Sanctus Reach.
The lineup also features multiple digital adaptations of tabletop-style gameplay experiences, including Talisman: Digital Classic Edition (4th Edition), Talisman: The Horus Heresy, and Talisman: Origins. Additional returning titles include Man O’ War: Corsair – Warhammer Naval Battles, Warhammer Quest, Warhammer Quest II: The End Times, and narrative-driven entries such as Legacy of Dorn: Herald of Oblivion.
Also included are Chainsaw Warrior and Chainsaw Warrior: Lords of Night, both of which continue the franchise’s tradition of adapting tabletop mechanics into digital formats.
Existing Warhammer PC Titles Join the Warhammer Classics Label

Alongside restored and returning releases, several already-available titles are now being grouped under the Warhammer Classics label as part of the initiative’s broader catalog organization strategy.
These include Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War – Anniversary Edition, Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War II – Anniversary Edition, and Warhammer Underworlds – Shadespire Edition, as well as naval strategy title Battlefleet Gothic: Armada and turn-based tactics entry Space Hulk: Tactics.
Sports strategy adaptations such as Blood Bowl: Chaos Edition and Blood Bowl II: Legendary Edition are also included, alongside the vehicular combat strategy title Dark Future: Blood Red States.
Warhammer Classics Strengthens Long-Term Support for PC Players
The launch of the Warhammer Classics label highlights the continued importance of PC as a platform for Warhammer gaming experiences. By restoring compatibility and improving accessibility across more than 20 legacy titles, SNEG and Games Workshop are reinforcing long-term support for the franchise’s historical catalog.
For longtime fans, the initiative offers an opportunity to revisit influential strategy and tactical entries that helped define the franchise’s digital identity. For newer players, it provides a curated gateway into decades of Warhammer video game history through a modern storefront experience on Steam.
