Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack members can now play a collection of Virtual Boy games on both the Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2 systems.
The Virtual Boy was Nintendo’s short-lived stereoscopic 3D console from the mid-90s, and its games are now part of the Nintendo Classics library. To play them, members will need a special accessory that slides the console into a viewer. There are two options available: one designed to look like the original Virtual Boy hardware, complete with a stand, and a simpler cardboard version. Both can be found by visiting Nintendo’s official store at nintendo.com/store and searching for Virtual Boy.
Here’s a look at every game included in the lineup:
Galactic Pinball (1995) — A pinball game set in space featuring four different tables, each with its own unique elements like alien encounters and flying asteroids.
Teleroboxer (1995) — A first-person boxing game set in the 22nd century where players control robots in a sport called teleroboxing. Players can dodge attacks and use different punch combos to take down opponents.
Red Alarm (1995) — A 3D shooter where players pilot a Tech-Wing Fighter to take down a rogue automated battle system called KAOS. Stages end with a replayable sequence where the camera angle can be freely moved.
Virtual Boy Wario Land (1995) — A side-scrolling action game where Wario falls into an underground cave after discovering treasure and has to fight his way back to the surface. The game features hidden rooms, traps, and power-ups along the way.
3-D Tetris (1996) — A 3D take on the classic Tetris formula, originally released exclusively in North America. Players stack blocks in layers within a five-by-five grid across three game modes: 3-D Tetris, Center-Fill, and Puzzle.
Golf (1995) — An 18-hole golf game where players factor in wind, distance, terrain, and club selection for each shot. It includes a Stroke Play mode for practicing individual holes and a Tournament Play mode where players compete against 48 golfers.
The Mansion of Innsmouth (1995) — A 3D horror adventure that was only released in Japan. Players take the role of a detective trapped in a monster-filled mansion, tasked with finding keys to unlock each floor and escaping before time runs out.
