Stoic has confirmed that Towerborne will officially leave Early Access and Xbox Game Preview with its full 1.0 launch on February 26, 2026. Xbox Game Studios will publish the side-scrolling action RPG brawler on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam and the Microsoft Store. The game will also launch day one on Game Pass, giving subscribers immediate access across supported platforms.
This release marks Towerborne’s debut on PlayStation platforms and delivers the most complete version of the game to date. Players can purchase the Standard Edition for USD 24.99 (approximately MYR 118), while the Deluxe Edition will be available for USD 29.99 (approximately MYR 142). The game supports Xbox Play Anywhere and has been verified for handheld play.
A Long Road Out of Early Access

Towerborne first entered Early Access on PC in September 2024. Stoic later released the game through Xbox Game Preview in April 2025. During this period, the development team relied heavily on player feedback to refine combat systems, progression, and balance.
According to Stoic CEO and President Trisha Stouffer, community input played a central role in shaping the final release. The team used that feedback to guide major design decisions leading into version 1.0. The full launch reflects over a year of iteration and restructuring.
One of the biggest changes comes from a complete shift in the game’s access model. Stoic moved Towerborne away from its original free-to-play, always-online design. The game now offers a premium, buy-once experience that supports offline play, with online co-op remaining optional.
A Complete Story and Expanded World

The 1.0 release delivers a finished story campaign with a full narrative arc. Players will face a central antagonist, take on new side quests, and interact with a reworked Bounty Board. The story once again follows an Ace, an immortal warrior defending the Belfry while uncovering the truth behind the fallen City of Numbers.
Stoic has also expanded the game world. The update introduces a redesigned world map and a new coastal biome. Players can expect additional bosses, new enemy variants, and expanded Umbra encounters. The development team also rebuilt the difficulty system, including a new “Brutal” mode for players seeking a tougher challenge.
New Systems, Customization, and Quality-of-Life Improvements

The full launch adds new gear, abilities, and a Forge system that allows players to modify, upgrade, and re-roll stats. These changes give players more control over builds and combat flow. Composer Austin Wintory contributes new music to the release, further strengthening the game’s atmosphere.
Stoic has also removed paid cosmetic purchases entirely. Players can now unlock all cosmetics through gameplay. The update includes multiple save slots and support for importing existing characters and loot from Early Access.
With its full release on February 26, Towerborne arrives as a redefined action RPG. Stoic positions the game as a complete, player-focused experience shaped by direct community feedback.
