On December 5th, Creative Assembly revealed Total War: MEDIEVAL III during SEGA’s 25th Anniversary Showcase. As the next chapter in the iconic historical strategy franchise, it is now in early pre-production. The game promises a bold evolution of the series. Moreover, it is designed as the ultimate medieval sandbox, allowing players to shape realms, rewrite history, and immerse themselves in the Middle Ages.
Combining meticulous historical authenticity with unprecedented player agency, MEDIEVAL III honors its legendary predecessors while reinventing historical Total War. Fans can watch the live-action announcement trailer to see the strategic depth and grand scope that define the franchise. In addition, the trailer hints at new gameplay possibilities for both veterans and newcomers.
Total War: WARHAMMER III – Lords of the End Times
Creative Assembly also unveiled the Lords of the End Times expansion for Total War: WARHAMMER III. Scheduled for Summer 2026, the pack introduces four new Legendary Lords, starting with the necromancer Nagash. Players will encounter transformed campaigns featuring apocalyptic events and fresh strategic challenges.

Consequently, both new and experienced players can test their tactical skills in new ways. Furthermore, the free End Times Update enhances the campaigns with additional Legendary Lords and altered scenarios. Therefore, the expansion significantly enriches the WARHAMMER III experience.
The Next Evolution: Warcore Engine
During the showcase, Creative Assembly introduced Warcore, the next evolution of the Total War engine. This new technology provides developers with tools that make gameplay more dynamic, immersive, and responsive. In particular, Warcore allows for larger battles and more detailed environments than ever before.

Additionally, Warcore enables future Total War games to launch on PlayStation and Xbox. As a result, console players can now experience the scale and tactical mastery that have defined the franchise for decades. Teasing the Future

The showcase also teased a third Total War title, Total War MEDIEVAL III which will be fully revealed at The Game Awards on December 12th. Celebrating 25 Years of Total War
Vice President Roger Collum reflected on the milestone, saying: “It’s incredible to think Total War is 25 years old. We’re grateful to our community for decades of support. This year allowed fans, old and new, historical and fantasy, to come together and celebrate the next chapter. Here’s to 25 more years!” Earlier on December 5th, SEGA also unveiled other updates.

For instance, Tides of Torment for Total War: WARHAMMER III adds three Legendary Lords for the High Elves, Norsca, and Slaanesh races. In addition, the Immortal Empires campaign for WARHAMMER I & II is now free, letting players experience one of the franchise’s grandest campaigns. These initiatives demonstrate SEGA and Creative Assembly’s ongoing commitment to expanding the Total War universe.
