The Witcher: Monster Slayer now has a release date: 21 July 2021. This is an AR game a la Pokemon Go, except, well, based on The Witcher. The release date announcement trailer can be seen below:
The Witcher: Monster Slayer is a location-based augmented-reality RPG that challenges you to become a professional monster hunter. Venture out into the world around you and use your mobile device to track witcher-world monsters that roam close-by. Track these monsters and prepare for combat using time of day, weather conditions, and your witcher knowledge to gain an advantage on your quest to becoming an elite monster slayer.
This follows soon after an early access period, and the game is also currently open for pre-registration on the Google Play Store. Not to worry though, The Witcher: Monster Slayer will also release on iOS on the same date. The game is free to download.
With the COVID-19 pandemic still affecting many countries, we’ll have to see what provisions the game will be making for those who are unable to leave their houses due to safety concerns. Pokemon Go has made many adjustments in the past year, so we should be expecting The Witcher: Monster Slayer to be following suit.
