Free-to-play open-world action RPG The Seven Deadly Sins: Origin will launch on January 28, 2026, for PlayStation 5, PC via Steam, iOS, and Android. Publisher Netmarble and developer Netmarble F&C made the announcement, with a new trailer shown during Sony’s State of Play presentation.
Based on the popular Japanese manga and anime series, the game presents a completely original story set in the kingdom of Britannia. Players take on the role of Tristan, a young adventurer who gets caught up in a crisis that threatens the world. The story is designed to be accessible to newcomers while expanding the universe for existing fans under the supervision of series creator Nakaba Suzuki.
Built using Unreal Engine 5, the game features various activities across Britannia’s landscapes. Players can catch wild creatures with magical sealing tools, fish in different bodies of water, mine resources, and craft items. The world includes mountains, forests, villages, and ancient ruins filled with secrets and rewards. Movement options include gliding, swimming, and climbing to reach hidden areas. Environmental puzzles are scattered throughout the world, tied to its history and lore.

The game uses real-time combat where players can switch between different party members during battles. Each character has unique fighting styles, from melee combat to ranged magic and support abilities. Players can chain combos and use tactical counters against enemies. Boss fights include massive enemies and multi-phase encounters that require specific team setups and timing. Character progression involves leveling up, enhancing equipment, and unlocking new skills.

While designed as a complete single-player experience, the game includes optional multiplayer features. Up to five players can team up for dungeons, world bosses, and exploration. The co-op system is seamless and optional, allowing players to choose their preferred way to play. The narrative involves fractured dimensions, alternate timelines, and space-time rifts affecting Britannia. The world responds to player actions, with characters remembering choices and new areas opening over time.
