A fresh trailer for Nioh 3 was shown during today’s State of Play event, giving fans a new look at the upcoming game’s story and combat while confirming its release date. Nioh 3 is set to release on February 6, 2026 for PC and PlayStation 5.
The trailer shows that Nioh 3’s story will be set in 1572 during Japan’s Sengoku period. Players can expect to meet real historical figures from this time in Japanese history. The gameplay footage reveals that the series is getting more complex, with two different fighting styles for players to use. The game will also feature more open level designs compared to previous entries, along with tough regular enemies and challenging boss fights.
The Nioh 3 release date shown at the end of the trailer matches what was leaked earlier through an Amazon Japan listing. PlayStation 5 players already got a chance to try the game through a limited-time alpha demo.
Team NINJA and Koei Tecmo have been listening to player feedback from this demo and plan to make several improvements to the final game. These changes include balance adjustments, better controls, and improved visibility in game stages.

The developers are also working on visual upgrades for the final release. These improvements will include better Global Illumination, less fog in certain areas, improved textures, and other visual enhancements.
