Tatsuki Fujimoto’s acclaimed manga Look Back will receive a live-action adaptation in 2026. Fujimoto’s editor, Shihei Lin, shared the news on X while promoting the latest Chainsaw Man chapter on Shonen Jump+. Alongside the announcement, two teaser visuals showed Fujino and Kyomoto in the snow and working together on their manga.
Award-Winning Director Leads the Project
Hirokazu Kore-eda, the Japan Academy Award-winning director of Shoplifters, will helm the film. He also directed Monsters and the Netflix series Asura. In addition, Daiju Koide, producer of Shin Kamen Rider, will produce the film at K2Pictures. The adaptation is slated for release in 2026. Fans can expect Kore-eda’s signature blend of realism and emotional storytelling to bring the story vividly to life.
