During the recent Nintendo Direct livestream, it’s been announced that Star Ocean The Second Story R will be launching for Nintendo Switch on 2nd November 2023.

Star Ocean The Second Story R is a remake of the second Star Ocean game and will be featuring brand new graphics that mixes 2D and 3D. Players can join Federation Officer Claude and Rena, a girl with mystical powers as they venture off on a grand journey. That also means that players can either control as one of the two main characters and play through the story from their perspectives.

Players can also meet and recruit a dozen of potential allies to join in your party, each with their own goals and motives. During your adventure, the hero that the player chooses and the decisions they make will have an impact on which characters they can recruit.

The gameplay will feature real-time combat where players can activate a character’s skill with just a click of a button. The remake also offers enemies that have chain attacks which could potentially spice up combat situations. Additionally, players can also activate follow-up attacks using the characters that aren’t currently in your active party.

Star Ocean The Second Story R launches for the Nintendo Switch on 2nd November 2023.
