Sega has announced a Godzilla crossover event for Sonic Rumble launching on December 22. The update brings a new stage, playable characters, and themed rewards based on the kaiju series. The event will be available on all platforms where Sonic Rumble is playable, including mobile devices and PC via Steam.
The crossover introduces a new stage called Godzilla Survival. This stage focuses on environmental hazards instead of traditional race routes. The arena collapses gradually during matches, requiring players to keep moving while dodging falling sections and incoming threats.
Six kaiju characters are being added: Godzilla, King Ghidorah, Mechagodzilla, Destoroyah, Fire Rodan, and Mothra. Each character comes with event-specific buddies and cosmetic rewards connected to the collaboration.
Each kaiju has its own skill set based on their abilities. Godzilla uses Heat Ray, while King Ghidorah uses Gravity Beams. These skills are designed for the event content and work within Sonic Rumble’s ability-based gameplay without replacing standard mechanics.

The Godzilla event comes after Sega announced that Sonic Rumble has reached over 15 million players worldwide. Sega also shared plans to address player feedback and improve progression and monetization clarity. The crossover begins after the current milestone event ends on December 17.
