Our friends down in Singapore have been busy. The teams over at Capital Gains Studios and Lord of the Chords walked away with several nominations from Imagination Games, a UK-based website.

Capital Gains Studios’ Debtzilla made the shortlist for the Best Family Game 2020. The game has you and up to three friends make money and fight supervillains. At the end of the game, you throw down against the titular Debtzilla. It was nominated for Player’s Choice Award, as well as Best IG Game of the Year (BIGGY).

Lord Of The Chords also walked away with several nominations. It’s a music-based card game, in which players have to play cards matching a key signature. The game’s developers described it as a great way to teach music theory through a card game. Imagination Games nominated Lord of the Chords for Best Cross-Curriculum Game, Player’s Choice as well as Best IG Game of the Year (BIGGY).

It’s always great to see more creativity come out of the Southeast Asia region, especially when they get international recognition like this.

Imagination Games is an organization working to promote education through games. They do this in part by running an online storefront that sells games in the UK. The other part of this is their own awards, which promote games based on the skills they teach.
