Fans of Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice might finally see the action game adapted into anime. Kadokawa Corporation, parent company of FromSoftware, has registered a new domain titled “sekiro-anime.com.” ResetEra user Vestan spotted the domain registration, which occurred on July 31, 2025. This discovery has fueled speculation that an official reveal could arrive soon.

The rumored anime will reportedly be produced by Qzil.la, a studio known for short-form content. Qzil.la has previously handled opening and ending animations for popular series like Chainsaw Man and Hell’s Paradise.
This potential project follows the growing trend of turning hit games into anime. Castlevania and Cyberpunk: Edgerunners have already shown strong success. Another adaptation, Ghost of Tsushima, is in development and will focus on the Legends co-op mode. That part of the game added supernatural elements inspired by Japanese mythology and allowed four players to team up against mythical foes.

Sekiro doesn’t have an anime yet, but the franchise has expanded in other ways. A comedic manga series currently offers a lighter take on the game’s grim world and intense combat.
FromSoftware Has More Projects in the Pipeline
FromSoftware is also busy with other projects. The studio is developing a new multiplatform title that could launch in 2026. They’re also preparing The Duskbloods, a multiplayer game exclusive to Switch 2, slated for the same year.

Meanwhile, Sony is deepening its ties with Bandai Namco, publisher of Elden Ring. Sony invested $463 million, securing a 2.5% stake in the company. This move hints at more collaborations in the future.
The domain registration gives fans a strong reason to believe that Sekiro could be the next game to receive an anime adaptation.
