JAST USA has opened pre-orders for School Days Remastered, the updated version of the visual novel originally developed by Overflow. The remaster is currently available at a 10% discount, priced at $35.99 instead of the regular $39.99.
Players who already own the original School Days HQ through JAST will receive the remaster for free on their account. No release date has been announced at this time.
School Days Remastered will include updated visuals and higher quality video. It will also add modern quality-of-life improvements like autosaves and adjustable settings to make the experience more convenient for players.
School Days originally launched in 2005 as a visual novel for PC. The game follows high school student Makoto Ito through a story where he can pursue relationships with several different girls. The title stood out when it was released because it featured both animation and voice acting, which was uncommon for visual novels at the time.
The game includes over 20 different endings and uses a timed choice system where players must make decisions within a certain time limit. An English version was brought to Western audiences by JAST USA in 2011.
School Days became widely known after receiving an anime adaptation, which reached a much larger audience than the original game. The series has since spawned multiple spin-offs and related projects over the years.
