Developer Key has launched a free demo for anemoi, their new all-ages romance visual novel, more than two years after first announcing the project. The demo is currently available in Japanese only and can be downloaded from the game’s official website.
The demo includes the full prologue and a portion of the common route from the complete game. Players take on the role of Mugi Hayakawa, who returns to the countryside town of Masumi with his younger sister Rikka to open a time capsule they buried a decade ago. During their visit, they meet four girls—Spica Tsujikura, Aino Fusaba, Hiiro Awayuki, and Koyomi Shirato—who become connected to the siblings and their shared history.
The game features five romance options, including the four girls mentioned and the protagonist’s sister Rikka. The development team includes several Key veterans who worked on the studio’s earlier titles, with Summer Pockets game director Kai leading the project alongside scenario writers Yu Nijima and Hasama.

The title references the Anemoi, the collective name for the Four Wind Gods in Greek mythology—Boreas, Zephyrus, Notus, and Eurus, representing the north, west, south, and east winds. While the main characters don’t share these names, the title and the windmills shown in the official artwork suggest that wind serves as an important element in the story.
Anemoi is scheduled to launch on January 30, 2026 for Windows. So far, only a Japanese release has been confirmed. However, Key’s previous visual novels have received English versions through Steam, and the studio’s games have built a following outside Japan.
