Few months ago we covered a little bit of details with Re:Legend. If you didn’t catch any of that, here is a link for you to catch up on what we saw during their pre-alpha gameplay.
Re:Legend puts you on an island called “Ethia” where you start the game by customizing your character . After that happens, you get push straight off the cliff just to see him/her drown.
You wash up at the shore and get found by Papa Pia. You wake up at the Vokka Town Hospital after 3 days being treated by nurse Edna.
Being in this foreign town, you will have to start a new life here in Vokka. Later in the game you can do a lot of “Harvest Moon” like content such as planting, fishing, chopping and much more for you to discover. What makes this game more interesting is that you can forge your own equipment and fight monsters which they call Magnus . You also get to capture some of the Magnus as well! Did I mention that there are more than 300 Magnus in Re:Legend!?
If you capture any of the Magnus, you can bring up to 2 of them along on your journey. They will function as your loyal followers and attack targets that you attacked. I had so much fun travelling around with the Magnus just to clear out harder bosses!
Other than the fun mechanics that you can enjoy within the game, the audio overall within Re:Legend is pretty enjoyable. With the experience from Final Fantasy XV, the composing team did a fantastic job making the audio feedback and background music!
Visual wise, the game were interestingly simple that I can navigate everything pretty fast. The mini-map can sometimes be confusing to me as I’m not clear on which area I’m traveling towards.
Within Ethia, there are 4 seasons and day and night cycle as well! As of my gameplay, I personally didn’t face any huge trouble.
Before I actually play the game myself, I would compare the game with some mobile games like Utopia Origins or Zgirls 2. I was truly wrong, this game really has its uniqueness and lives up to their name as one of the rising stars for South East Asia Region.
