Through a Producer Letter published through Punishing: Gray Raven social channels, Solon Lee has shared some of his thoughts. Here’s one posted through Twitter. While not reproduced here verbatim, you can read some of what he says below:

Punishing: Gray Raven will be our first global release and it’s always been my biggest dream to develop a game that will be loved by players all over the world. When we first released in China in 2019, with a Japanese release following in 2020, we knew we had to aim high. We had to challenge the best and the brightest in a competitive and crowded mobile market. Based on what we’re hearing from players like you, I think we may have achieved that dream.

We set out to make an action-RPG that can stand proud as one of the best-looking, best-playing and most involved and skill focused out there. A console-quality action game that can fit in your pocket. A sci-fi universe you can bring with you and dive into wherever you like. It’s been a challenge for Kuro Game, but your response to the game has made it all worthwhile.

Through the producer letter, he talks about a steady stream of content updates as “launch is rapidly approaching”, and being encouraged by the interest and response players have shown following the most recent beta for Punishing: Gray Raven. The global launch date is currently slated for summer 2021, so look forward to that.
