Pokemon TCG Pocket recently implemented a trading feature which is set for changes following widespread player criticism, developer Creatures Inc announced this week. The current system, which requires players to use trade tokens and trade hourglasses to exchange cards of matching rarity levels, has faced backlash from the community for being overly restrictive and complicated.

In response to the criticism, Creatures Inc acknowledged that while the current restrictions were implemented to prevent bot abuse and protect the game’s integrity, they may have overcomplicated the trading experience. “Thanks to your feedback, we understand some of the restrictions put in place are preventing players from being able to casually enjoy the feature as intended,” the company stated.
The developer has committed to investigating improvements to the trading system and plans to introduce multiple methods for obtaining trade tokens, including through event distributions. As an immediate gesture, players logging in now will receive enough trade tokens for one free high-tier card trade.

In addition, the trading feature in Pokemon TCG Pocket currently limits exchanges to cards with rarities of 1-4 diamonds or 1 star, with the additional requirement that traded cards must be of equal rarity. The specific changes planned for the system have not yet been detailed by the developer. Pokemon TCG Pocket, which launched in October 2024, combines virtual card collecting with player-versus-player battles in a bite-sized format for players.
