Idea Factory International has announced that the upcoming science-fiction roguelite third-person shooter Scar-Lead Salvation will launch on PC via Steam in the West on May 29, coinciding with its Japanese release. The game, developed by Neilo and published by Compile Heart, will feature both English and Japanese voice-overs, along with subtitle support for multiple languages including English, French, Spanish, and both Traditional and Simplified Chinese.
While the game will see a simultaneous release on PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4 in Japan, Idea Factory International has confirmed that currently, only the PC version is planned for Western territories, with no information available regarding potential PlayStation releases in these regions.
The game follows Willow Martin, voiced by Fairouz Ai, an amnesiac protagonist who finds herself battling mechanical weapons in a mysterious facility. Players will interact with an enigmatic AI character, voiced by Junichi Suwabe, whose true motives remain unclear.
Gameplay features a challenging roguelite structure where death requires players to restart stages and recollect their weapons. The combat system includes unique abilities such as the “Mirage Shift,” allowing players to transform into data for evasive maneuvers, and the high-risk, high-reward “Striker” melee attack.
In Japan, the game will be available in various editions, including a Special Edition featuring exclusive content such as an art book, soundtrack CD, and collector’s items. The standard edition will be priced at 8,580 yen, with Digital Deluxe and Special Editions available at 10,780 yen and 12,980 yen respectively.
