In celebration of the Pokémon Go’s second anniversary, Niantic announced that the game will be seeing more Pikachu and Pichu spawns starting today. Furthermore, a special “Summer Style” Pikachu will also be made available throughout the rest of July 2018.
The “Summer Style” Pikachu is fitted with a straw hat and sunglasses, and for those with Pikachu Fan medals, Pikachu Fan Avatar items such as Pikachu ears and T shirts will be available for purchase. In other news, Pokémon Go is reported to have made USD 1.8 billion in revenue in the two years since its original release on iOS and Android platforms. According to marketing firm Sensor Tower, players around the world continue to spend approximately USD 2mn daily on the game.
