PLAION will handle the global distribution of physical copies for Pearl Abyss’s upcoming open-world action adventure game Crimson Desert, the companies announced. Crimson Desert is an open-world action-adventure game set in the world of Pywel. Players take on the role of Kliff, who leads a group of mercenaries called the Greymanes. The story focuses on Kliff and his team as they fight to save their lands from a coming disaster.

The game features large open areas to explore, combat against monsters, loot collection, and follows the Greymanes’ story with modern graphics technology. Players will experience intense battles while discovering the vast landscapes that make up the continent of Pywel. The physical edition will be available for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, and PC via Steam when the game launches in Q1 2026.
“We are proud to work with Pearl Abyss to bring Crimson Desert to players across the globe,” said PLAION Partners CEO Craig McNicol in a press release.
Pearl Abyss chief business officer Kevin Kim added his thoughts on the partnership: “PLAION is already proving to be a strong partner for Pearl Abyss as we continue to grow in overseas markets. Partnering with PLAION with their global footprint will allow us to bring Crimson Desert to even more fans around the world. We are pleased to partner with a physical game distributor that shares our ambitious vision of an adventure set in the beautiful yet brutal continent of Pywel.”

The partnership between PLAION and Pearl Abyss aims to make the physical version of Crimson Desert available to gaming fans worldwide when it releases in the first quarter of 2026.
