Marvelous has announced the Pine Hoverfly Outfit Set DLC for Story of Seasons: Grand Bazaar. It features an in-game sweater, beanie, and glider. The content will be available at launch, and all proceeds will go to the Royal Zoological Society of Scotland (RZSS) to support invertebrate conservation.
This initiative continues the 2020 partnership with RZSS and Jellymedia. That collaboration played a key role in saving the critically endangered pine hoverfly. Since then, the charity’s breeding program has expanded from 170 to 8,000 individuals annually. As a result, adult pine hoverflies are now reproducing in the wild for the first time in eight years.
Developer and Conservation Team Comments
Dr Helen Taylor, RZSS Conservation Programme Manager, expressed excitement over the DLC’s release:
“Fans downloading Pine Hoverfly content are directly contributing to conserving a critically endangered species in the U.K. Species like pine hoverflies are vital to ecosystem health yet often overlooked. We love that Marvelous continues to protect the wee beasties of this world and that our partnership is evolving.”
Chris Jennings, Head of Marketing at Marvelous Europe, noted that the game’s theme of regeneration mirrors the conservation efforts:
“Bringing a species back from the brink ensures future generations can see them in the wild. The success of this initiative has inspired us to explore similar projects in the future.”
In addition, Marvelous released a 12-minute documentary highlighting the work done to save the pine hoverfly species.
About Story of Seasons: Grand Bazaar
Set in the mountainside village of Zephyr Town, players take on the role of a newcomer revitalizing the Grand Bazaar. You can farm crops, raise animals, craft goods, and sell them in a weekly market. Moreover, the game lets you customize your stall and interact directly with customers to draw more visitors.
Beyond the bazaar, players can build relationships with locals and even pursue romance with one of twelve marriage candidates. The world also offers whimsical features such as windmill-powered gliders and the return of the nature sprites.
Story of Seasons: Grand Bazaar will launch on Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC via Steam on August 27, 2025. Digital buyers can choose from three editions: the Standard Edition at USD $49.99 (around MYR 220), the Deluxe Edition at USD $59.99 (around MYR 264) which includes the “Trunk of Transformation” DLC.
Finally, the Super Deluxe Edition at USD $69.99 (around MYR 308) which adds a digital artbook and soundtrack app. Additionally, physical editions for all tiers are available for pre-order on their official website.
