Paramount Pictures is expanding the Sonic the Hedgehog franchise with a fifth movie, currently untitled. The studio plans to release it on December 22, 2028, and describes it as a “Sonic Universe feature.” This suggests it could explore a spin-off storyline.

A New Sonic Adventure on the Horizon

The announcement comes after the upcoming fourth Sonic movie, scheduled for March 19, 2027, about 18 months earlier. Because the franchise has performed exceptionally well, Paramount is eager to continue growing Sonic’s cinematic universe.
