Pocketpair Publishing and Frontside 180 Studio have announced that Never Grave: The Witch and The Curse will launch on March 5, 2026. The 2D roguelike action game will be available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, PlayStation 4, Switch, and PC via Steam. Pre-orders are currently open on PlayStation Store, with other platforms to follow. PlayStation Plus members can get a 10 percent discount when pre-ordering either version of the game.

The game’s story follows a young witch who has her soul stolen by the Ancient Witch and receives a curse that prevents her from dying. Players work to break the curse and help her get her soul back.

A new gameplay trailer was shown during today’s State of Play Japan presentation. The development team is working on the final stages of the game ahead of its March 2026 release. In Never Grave, players control a magical hat rather than the witch herself. The game features a Possession system that lets players take over defeated enemies and use their abilities. This mechanic works for both combat and solving puzzles throughout the game.

The game offers two ways to make your character stronger. Players can use a skill tree to permanently upgrade their character with materials found in dungeons and the village. They can also collect different equipment during their adventures. These systems allow players to create different builds each time they play, whether they focus on physical attacks, magic, or exploration.

Never Grave supports online co-op for up to four players. Friends can team up to fight enemies together or split tasks between combat and village building.The game includes boss battles at the end of each dungeon. These bosses use different attack patterns, from laser attacks to storm conjuring and lava control.
