Neon Giant, the studio behind 2021’s The Ascent, has announced their next project: No Law, a first-person shooter RPG set in a cyberpunk open world. The game was revealed during The Game Awards 2025 and is being developed for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC.

The reveal trailer showcased Port Desire, the game’s main setting—a sprawling city built into seaside cliffs using Unreal Engine 5. Players will take control of Grey Harker, an ex-military veteran who left behind his combat days to live peacefully. But when trouble tracks him down, Harker must use his black-ops training and specialized gear to reclaim what was taken from him.

According to Neon Giant, No Law features a cyber-noir story with strong player choice. The developers emphasize that players can tackle missions through precision shooting, stealth, or all-out combat—whatever fits their style. The game includes military upgrades, sci-fi gadgets, and vertical movement options that let players shape each mission around their preferred approach.

Port Desire itself is described as a city “built on neon sleaze instead of regulation”—a port hub filled with imports, excess, and characters with hidden motives. The city stretches from rooftop gardens down to smog-choked alleys, and Neon Giant says the environment reacts to player decisions throughout the game.

Players step into the boots of Grey Harker, who suffered serious injuries during his final military assignment before retiring. Though he’s done looking for fights, conflict comes to him anyway, forcing him back into action.

The game promises that player choices matter—helping allies or taking out enemies will affect how the story unfolds. Multiple playthroughs will reveal different paths and endings based on these decisions.

Port Desire is presented as an industrial city mixing cybergrunge architecture with plant life, positioned on a cliff overlooking the ocean. It serves as a major trade center where people come to chase their ambitions in a place with few rules. The vertical layout lets players explore from the highest rooftops to the lowest streets.

No Law offers freedom in how players complete objectives. They can lean into Harker’s tactical military background for stealth gameplay or embrace direct combat with heavy firepower. The game features various military upgrades, futuristic tools, and movement systems that support different playstyles.
