Bandai Namco Entertainment has announced that The Little Nightmares franchise has achieved 12 million units sold within six years since the first game’s release. While there was no official breakdown on how the numbers are distributed between the titles in the franchise, it still represents a significant milestone regardless.

For context, it took the Souls Franchise about the same time period to achieve said sales figures starting from Dark Souls 1 to Dark Souls 3.

The franchise has had several games released under it which started from Little Nightmares back in 2017, Very Little Nightmares a mobile game which was released in 2019, and Little Nightmares II a sequel to Little Nightmares which was released in 2021.

All three titles in the Little Nightmares franchise are puzzle oriented type games, with Little Nightmares I and II being puzzle-platformers while Very Little Nightmares is more of a puzzle type game with less platforming.

Very Little Nightmares served as a prequel for Little Nightmares, with it featuring Six as she attempts to escape the Nest and players learning more about her backstory. While Little Nightmares has Six escaping the Maw which is an underwater vessel filled with grotesque inhabitants.

The sequel, Little Nightmares II however featured the story of Mono who is a young boy with a paper bag on his head who meets Six and leads them on an adventure through Pale City that is distorted by the humming transmission of the Signal Tower.

Little Nightmares I is available on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch and PC while Little Nightmares II is available on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch and PC.

Very Little Nightmares being a mobile only game is available on iOS and Android.
