Kotobukiya has announced figures of the Egyptian God Cards from YuGiOh, the key monsters in the Battle City arc of the iconic card game manga.

They’re producing three YuGioh God Card figures in total- Obelisk The Tormentor, Slifer the Sky Dragon as well as the Winged Dragon of Ra. They’re available for pre order, and pre-ordering the figures will entitle you to a special stand based on the figures cards.

The three Kotobukiya YuGiOh God Card Figures are sold separately, with Slifer being released in November 2021, The Winged Dragon of Ra following up in December 2021 and Obelisk closing off the release in January 2022.

The figures cost 23980 Yen each (RM899), and feature the anime designs of the aforementioned characters. Unlike the other two, Obelisk is the only God Card to have multiple designs, sporting a new look in YuGiOh The Dark Side of Dimensions.

The Egyptian God Cards

The Egyptian God Cards are three powerful monsters, forming part of the central conflict of YuGiOh’s Battle City arc. While for the majority of the arc each card is in the posession of one of the major characters of the arc- Yugi has Slifer, his rival Kaiba uses Obelisk and the arc’s major antagonist Marik uses Ra, the arc ends with Yugi getting all three.

The premise of Yugi having then become unbeatable is carried on in a lot of media, including the movie Pyramid of Light, whose entire plot revolves around a quest to find a way to overcome the God cards.
