Korean game developer IGGYMOB has announced that it has fully acquired the rights to the Gungrave IP from Red Entertainment. The studio shared the news through its official X (formerly Twitter) account. In its announcement post, IGGYMOB said that the team will “work tirelessly to build a better future” for the franchise.

IGGYMOB also confirmed that Yasuhiro Nightow will stay involved with the series going forward. The creator himself also publicly acknowledged the acquisition announcement by retweeting the original post, signaling his awareness and continued connection to the franchise.
Gungrave first launched in 2002 on the PlayStation 2 as a third-person action shooter. The series was created with involvement from manga artist Yasuhiro Nightow, who is widely known for his works Trigun and Blood Blockade Battlefront. The game series follows Grave, a gunman who fights using dual pistols and a large transforming coffin. Beyond the games, the franchise has also expanded into anime and other related media over the years.
The studio also shared its plans to grow the Gungrave IP beyond games, though specific details were not provided at this time. An official brand website for the series is also in the works and is expected to launch soon.
