Hyrule Warriors: Age of Imprisonment will receive a free update on Thursday, November 27. Version 1.0.2 adds new weapons, battle challenges, and gameplay improvements. Players can expect smoother combat, additional challenges, and important bug fixes.
New Battle Challenges and Enemies

After completing the main story, players can access multiple Battle Challenges and Hyrule Challenges. In addition, new “Dangerous Species” enemies appear, including Bokoblins and Sludgelikes. Players can also use Scra Attacks, such as “Boko Slash,” which are stronger than previous attacks.

The update introduces three new battles. First, players face a serious fight with Rauru. Next, they can collect many Poes in another challenge. Finally, a classic Musou-style battle allows players to aim for over 2,000 KOs.
New Weapons and Sync Strikes

Version 1.0.2 also brings new weapons. The Great Sword of Light is blessed by Rauru, and the Spear of the Upper Guard is carried by elite soldiers under the King of Hyrule.

Meanwhile, new Sync Strikes let characters team up for powerful attacks. Zelda and Calamo join forces in one, while the Block Golem’s spinning strike knocks down weak enemies and reduces the weak point gauge of stronger foes. As a result, battles feel more dynamic and strategic.
Gameplay Tweaks and Bug Fixes
Action improvements now let players save the Golem’s special moves by weapon type. Additionally, warning sounds alert players when Limit Break or Infinite Battery effects end. Battle tweaks allow character and weapon selection in the Training Room. Moreover, previews now show recovery amounts for Special Food and Spare Batteries.

Hyrule Map updates include tutorials, visualized areas, and battle previews. Hyrule Challenge lists also highlight clearable items in yellow and show completion status clearly. The update fixes many bugs, including issues with Golem Launch, Zonau Gear challenges, Sync Strike camera controls, split-screen progression, and display or audio glitches.

Overall, these updates make Hyrule Warriors: Age of Imprisonment smoother, more challenging, and more rewarding for both solo and co-op players. For more updates, follow Nintendo on their official X account. Check the full update here.
