SEGA Brings Yakuza 0 Director’s Cut, Kiwami, and Kiwami 2 to Next-Gen Consoles and PC With Discounted Upgrades

SEGA and Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio confirmed new digital upgrade discounts for Yakuza 0, Yakuza Kiwami, and Yakuza Kiwami 2. These enhanced versions—Yakuza 0 Director’s Cut, Yakuza Kiwami for current-gen systems, and Yakuza Kiwami 2—launch on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC on December 8. They come with better performance, more language options, and new content for Yakuza 0.

Yakuza 0 Director’s Cut

The Yakuza 0 Director’s Cut adds new features that the original Western release never included. SEGA restored the theme song “Bubble,” added fresh cutscenes, and introduced an online co-op mode called Red Light Raid. The upgrade also brings a full English dub and expanded text languages, including French, Italian, German, Spanish, Latin American Spanish, Brazilian Portuguese, and Russian.

Players who already own Yakuza 0 digitally on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, or Steam can move to the new version on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, or Steam for about RM62, far cheaper than buying it at full price.

Yakuza Kiwami

The new current-gen version of Yakuza Kiwami offers the same expanded language support as Yakuza 0. SEGA also brought back two songs—“Receive You [Reborn]” and “Bleed”—after they went missing in the Western release.

Digital owners on PlayStation 4 or Xbox One can upgrade to PlayStation 5 or Xbox Series X|S for around RM8. A new Steam version with the same language additions arrives the same day, and SEGA will share upgrade details for existing Steam users soon. Save data won’t transfer to the new version, and physical or subscription-based copies won’t qualify for upgrade pricing.

Yakuza Kiwami 2

Yakuza Kiwami 2 also receives the expanded text language options. Digital PlayStation 4 and Xbox One owners can upgrade to the PlayStation 5 or Xbox Series X|S version for free, making it the only title in this group with a zero-cost upgrade.

A new Steam version arrives with the expanded language list, and SEGA will provide details for players who already own the earlier PC release. Like the other titles, only digital storefront versions qualify, and save data will not carry over.

December 8 Release Across All Platforms

All three upgraded titles—Yakuza 0 Director’s Cut, Yakuza Kiwami, and Yakuza Kiwami 2—arrive on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC on December 8. SEGA aims to make the earlier Yakuza/Like a Dragon entries easier to access with modern hardware, more languages, and affordable upgrade paths. Fans now have a chance to revisit the classics with better performance and updated features.
