Publisher Warner Bros. Games and developer Avalanche Software announced that Hogwarts Legacy has sold over 40 million units globally. The milestone comes nine months after the game was reported to have reached 34 million sales in late March 2025. During this period, the game added six million units to its total.

Hogwarts Legacy first launched for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store on February 10, 2023. The game later arrived on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on May 5, 2023, followed by Nintendo Switch on November 14, 2023. Most recently, it launched on Nintendo Switch 2 on June 5, 2025. These releases expanded access to multiple platforms, reaching a wide audience of players.
