Hasbro, a major name in games, toys, and licensed products, has announced a new partnership with Nintendo to create toys based on The Legend of Zelda franchise. The multi-year deal is set to kick off in 2027, but fans won’t have to wait that long for a first look. Three 6-inch scale figures will be revealed next week at San Diego Comic Con, running July 23 through 26.
Billy Lagor, President of Toys and Board Games at Hasbro, spoke on what makes the Zelda series a fitting match for the company’s toy line. “For decades, The Legend of Zelda franchise has captivated fans through its deep lore, unforgettable characters and enduring sense of discovery,” Lagor said.
“By combining Nintendo’s iconic storytelling with Hasbro’s leadership in action and role-play, we’re delivering toys that invite fans to play, explore and forge their own epic adventures.”
The Legend of Zelda has been a staple of gaming since its first title launched in the United States back in 1987. The series is known for blending exploration and discovery with action and adventure, following the long-running struggle between Link and Zelda against the villain Ganondorf across the fantasy world of Hyrule.
With this partnership between Hasbro and Nintendo, fans of the franchise can look forward to seeing familiar characters and stories translated into physical toys, starting with the SDCC reveals and continuing as the collaboration builds toward its 2027 launch.
