Lauma is a new Dendro catalyst character that was added to Genshin Impact in Update Version Luna I “Song of the Welkin Moon: Segue.” She comes from the Nod-Krai region and brings some exciting new mechanics to the game that make her stand out from other characters. Whether you’re a dedicated Dendro team enthusiast or someone looking to shake up your current roster, Lauma offers a fresh approach to team building that rewards players who enjoy experimenting with elemental synergies.
What Makes Lauma Different?
Lauma introduces a brand-new Elemental Reaction called Lunar-Bloom, which is the first of its kind in Genshin Impact. This reaction works together with a special mechanic called Verdant-Dew that can stack up to three times. When you use Verdant-Dew, it creates standard AoE Dendro attacks and adds to Lunar-Bloom’s overall damage.

Her main role is as a support character who works best when played off-field. She’s designed to make reaction-based teams much stronger, especially those that focus on Dendro combinations with other elements. When you’re not in combat, Lauma has a unique exploration ability that lets her transform into a sacred half-deer form, which gives her faster movement speed.
Lauma’s Abilities
Elemental Skill – Runo: Dawnless Rest of Karsikko
Lauma’s Elemental Skill creates something called the Frostgrove Sanctuary that appears as a sacred deer. How you use the skill changes what it does:
- Tap the skill: Deals AoE Dendro damage to enemies
- Hold the skill: Creates a stronger attack that builds up Lunar-Bloom damage, but only if you use at least one stack of Verdant-Dew after triggering Lunar-Bloom
When you spend Verdant-Dew, you get Moon Song, which then becomes Pale Hymn. Pale Hymn stacks are very important because they give Lauma big damage bonuses for reactions, especially when she uses her Elemental Burst. Any enemy hit by the Frostgrove Sanctuary gets both Dendro and Hydro resistance debuffs that last for at least 10 seconds, making them take more damage from these elements.

Elemental Burst – Runo: All Hearts Become the Beating Moon
When Lauma uses her Burst, she immediately gets 18 stacks of Pale Hymn. These stacks are what make Bloom, Hyperbloom, Burgeon, and Lunar-Bloom reactions much stronger for your whole team.
You can get even more Pale Hymn stacks by saving up Moon Song from using Verdant-Dew. This means you need to plan your rotations carefully rather than just using skills randomly. The good news is that Lauma doesn’t need to stay on the field long to give your team these powerful buffs.

Best Equipment for Lauma
Weapons
Nightweaver’s Looking Glass is Lauma’s signature weapon and works perfectly with her kit. It has two special effects:
- Prayer of the Far North: Boosts Elemental Mastery for up to 4.5 seconds. This effect can also trigger with Hydro attacks, so other party members can benefit too.
- New Moon Verse: Lasts up to 10 seconds and only activates through Lunar-Bloom reactions. When both effects are active, your entire party gets huge reaction bonuses:
- +120% Bloom damage
- +80% Hyperbloom and Burgeon damage
- +40% Lunar-Bloom damage
For players who don’t want to pull for her signature weapon, there are other options:
- Starcaller’s Watch: A good choice that focuses on Elemental Mastery
- Blackmarrow Lantern: A new craftable weapon from this update that boosts Lunar-Bloom damage by 12%, with extra bonuses if you have two Nod-Krai characters in your party
Artifacts
Silken Moon’s Serenade is Lauma’s best artifact set. It increases Elemental Mastery and works even when she’s off-field. It also gives up to 10% extra damage based on how many Lunar reactions you trigger during battle.
If you don’t want to farm new artifacts, older sets that boost Elemental Mastery will work fine too.

For main stats, focus on Elemental Mastery above all else. Lauma’s damage, buffs, and support effects all get much stronger with higher EM.
Team Building
The best teams for Lauma focus on triggering Lunar-Bloom while making other reactions stronger. Aino, a new 4-star Hydro character from Nod-Krai, is her ideal partner since they appear on the same banner together.
Other good Hydro teammates include:
- Nilou
- Yelan
- Xingqiu
These characters help create the Hydro + Dendro combinations needed for Bloom-related reactions.
Constellations
C1 “O Lips, Weave Me Songs and Psalms” adds healing to Lauma’s kit. When she triggers Lunar-Bloom, she heals the party based on up to 500% of her Elemental Mastery. Since her base kit doesn’t include healing, this constellation adds useful utility.
C2 gives a big buff to her Elemental Burst, making it even more powerful.
C6 is her strongest constellation, adding more ways to generate Pale Hymn stacks through her Elemental Skill and giving +25% Lunar damage when you have the Moonsign: Ascendant Gleam condition active.

Should You Pull for Lauma?
Lauma is worth considering if you want to try the new Lunar-Bloom reaction system. Her ability to buff multiple reaction types, apply resistance debuffs, and provide team-wide utility makes her a good long-term investment for reaction-based teams.

She works best as an off-field support character, so you won’t keep her on the field for long periods. However, she can significantly boost your team’s reaction damage when built properly and used in the right team compositions.
